HRMS COMMUNITY CELEBRATES ABRASA 2018

On the celebration of the 120th Independence Day of our country, the Holy Rosary Major Seminary conducted the traditional ABRASA at Spring Valley Resort, Del Rosario, Naga City with the theme “Introitus: Amigo ni Kristo, Amigo ki Kristo.” The seminary held this event to welcome the newcomers in the community. This year, the seminary community warmly welcomed 17 seminarians, 5 coming from Senior High School Department of the Holy Rosary Minor Seminary, 8 coming from other Senior High Schools in the Archdiocese of Caceres, and 4 seminarians coming from the Diocese of Daet. The community also welcomed Rev. Fr. Nicholas Revilla back to the team of formators of the Major Seminary. The activity started with conduct of the Kalayan Cup wherein the 5 Boronyog Teams compete against each other. Team Societas had been declared champion for both games namely: Agawan-Bola and Chase the Dragon’s Tail. After the boodle fight lunch which was shared by each moderators group, a short program was held. During the said program, the new Philosophy seminarians presented to the community their song “Mapag-iisang Bayan” while the new Theology seminarians rendered their remix OPM songs such as the traditional Ako ay Pilipino, Pinoy Ako by Orange and Lemons, Noypi by Bamboo, and Bebot by Black Eyed Peas. A welcoming song was also given by the community for Rev. Fr. Nicholas Revilla as they have their Bienvenida for him. A tribute for Rev. Fr. Glenn Ruiz, now the new parish priest of St. Anthony Padua Parish in Camaligan, Camarines Sur, was also conducted as the HRMS community bids farewell for him with the song Seasons in the Sun by Westlife. The rector as well expressed his warm welcome to the seminary community by emphasizing in his closing remarks the true meaning of freedom which is always choosing to do good.
