Team Sacerdote Declared as Over-all Champion of the KARAWAT 2018

After four days of games and different events, the Karawat 2018 came to an end last August 14, 2018 with a dinner program held at the newly constructed and blessed Sts. Louis et Zelie Martin Auditorium. The 4 teams namely, Heirus, Sacerdote, Prete, Presbyteros, together with their priest-members gathered together that night to celebrate all of the hardships, difficulties, achievements, triumphs and joys they had experienced in the whole duration of the 4-day annual Intramurals. The night started with the blessing of food and prayer led by Rev. Fr. Joey Gonzaga. After it, a sumptuous dinner was enjoyed by each team. When everyone was settled, Sem. Michael Ceazar Mestiola and Sem. Ryan Zafe took the center stage which also marked the beginning of the program. Sem. Joie Nachor led the prayer and Sem. Ruben Torres conducted as the community sang the Philippine National Anthem. Afterwards, Rev. Fr. Nicholas Revilla welcomed everyone as he delivered his welcome remarks. After which, Sem. Patrick Samonte, the chairman of the Academics Committee of the seminary, red the criteria for judging and presented the members of the Board of Judges for the Aegis Song Recitation – A Spoken Poetry Competition, the last team-event for the Karawat 2018. One by one, each team delivered their spoken poetry performance; each with their creative interpretations of the different songs of the Aegis Band like Luha, Ulan, Sayang na Sayang, Sinta and Bakit to name some. The awarding of the winners for the various singles, doubles and team events was also done in succession. Before the most awaited announcement of the over-all champion was made, the winners for the just concluded spoken poetry event was declared; Team Prete got the Third Runner up, team Presbyteros followed and Team Sacerdote and Team Hierus was declared as first runner up and champion respectively. After which, yells and cheers filled the air as the overall team standing had been revealed one by one. Team Presbyteros finished the race as 3rd runner up. Team Prete ended up as the 2nd runner up. Team Hierus got the first runner up spot. In the end, the team Sacerdote was declared as the over-all champion for this year’s Karawat. In conclusion, Rev. Fr. William M. Parde, Jr., the Rector of the Holy Rosary Major Seminary, concluded the event by reminding everyone to be humble and grateful for every learning, honour and achievement which was gained during the four-day Intramurals. After the final blessing had been granted, everyone sang the Seminary Hymn marking the end of KARAWAT 2018: One Body, One Spirit, and One Lord.
